Artistic expression and creative freedom take a back seat, all the planned ideas like flower art and or other decorative idea may seem irrational and the one above it all is the hard work that needs to be put in. A single mistake can render in vain, or at least take away all the charm. However, a smart person is still moving towards the final result without fear of any negligent mistake on the way, as he has a few tips on his hands that will help him solve any problem that might arise while painting:
So, when one decides to paint their home, they should not be afraid of what could go wrong. Instead, they are to look forward to it and plan accordingly and with the help of a few smart tips, they will be able to get everything right:
1. Painting directly on oily, dirty surfaces will prove fruitless because the paint will peel off easily. To solve this problem, clean the grimy areas with a heavy-duty cleaner before painting.
2. Mix a few cans of paint in advance to maintain a consistent colour throughout the room. When opening a new paint, you may have a slightly different shade of colour that you might have started applying from the middle of the wall. Mixing the same colours together eliminates the problem.
3. Paint the trim before painting the walls and the ceilings. It is easier to tape off the trim than it is to tape off the walls. When painting the trim, the paint that might have dripped on the walls is not much of a big deal because it is then covered with the same paint all over.
4. A single coat of paint is usually not enough to hide the underlying colour of the trim. To ensure a smooth finish, one must sand the trim first before applying coats of each paint.
5. Avoid lap marks by rolling up to the full height of the wall and by also keeping a wet edge. Lap marks occur when one coat of the paint over a part that has already been partly dried. Maintain a wet edge by reloading the roller frequently.
6. Treat the wall patches with prime and texture to avoid a fuzzy finish. Wall patches absorb the paint and leaves the surface looking dull. The primer seals the patches and prevents the paint from sinking.
7. For perfect edges, let the paint dry before cutting the tape loose. Since the paint forms a film between the tape and the wall, removing the tape also causes the slightly dry paint to tear from the wall. To avoid this, when the paint is completely dry, cut through the film with a sharp knife.
